Chapter Six, Of Monsters and Magic
(Beth) May 9th, 2065
"Alright that's ten minutes!" I shouted so the whole crowd of monsters could hear me.
"So what do you think?" Bob asked, clearly nervous about my answer.
"You've just explained to me that you're all monsters created by Killian
that he rejected because you weren't brutal enough. You've also
informed me I must become your leader because I am one of the only
people on earth who has enough magic to face Killian and win. What I
think is, your crazy!" I felt very overwhelmed; how could they expect me
to believe this crazy talk?
"It's not crazy! You know about magic! You just won't admit!" Daisy shouted, anger rising in her voice.
"Daisy calm down." Bob said, trying to keep his voice as even as possibly.
"I
will not calm down!" Daisy retaliated. "Stop lying to us Beth; we know
all about your mom!" She got closer to me, fire in her eyes.
"Don't you dare speak of her! That woman ruined my life!" I shouted, getting up in Daisy's face.
"We know everything about your life Beth." Daisy pressed, "We were
created by magic, so we can sense and see magic. And we've known about
you and your mom for a long time."
"Alright were down the rabbit hole..." Bob sighed, "We think you're a lot like her Beth, you could do great things."
"Don't even compare me to that woman! She's EVIL!" I screamed covering my ears.
"I know you don't want to hear this, but you inherited her magic." Bob said, coming towards me.
I screamed and ran for it. I couldn't stand to hear anymore about the similarities of me and the woman who ruined my life.
"Beth! Come back!" The monsters shouted after me, but I just kept running.
